Andy Warhol: Motion Pictures

El MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) de Nueva York inaugurará el 19 de diciembre la exposición Andy Warhol. Motion Pictures, un curioso proyecto que muestra el lado más experimental de la faceta cinematográfica del artista Pop Andy Warhol (1928-1987).
Entre la obra cinematográfica de Warhol, las películas mudas en blanco y negro son las más experimentales y atrevidas en cuanto a la selección del tema, la agudeza psicológica, la estimulación rítmica, y la belleza de las formas.
Velocidad más lenta
A pesar de que estas películas se rodaron originalmente a la velocidad de sonido de película (veinticuatro fotogramas por segundo), Warhol especificó que las impresiones se proyectaran a una velocidad más lenta de dieciséis fotogramas por segundo, un tipo utilizado en la proyección de películas mudas desde 1890 hasta la década de 1920. Para esta exposición, una selección de películas de Warhol entre 1963 y 1966 se ha transferido de 16 mm de la película en DVD a la velocidad de dieciséis fotogramas por segundo, y se proyecta en pantallas y monitores. De esta forma, es posible ver las creaciones de Warhol tal y como él las había como previsto, y así apreciar la forma en que desafió al público y qué provocó esta manipulación de las imágenes en el espectador.INCLUYE UNA PELICULA DE DALÍ.

MOMA NYC NEW PHOTOGRAPHY 2010
The New York art space kicks off its annual exhibition of upcoming creative talent
MoMA’s annual exhibition of emerging art photographers has showcased the talents of such dignities as Philip Lorca diCorcia, Thomas Demand, Rineke Dijkstra and Sara VanDerBeek. The 2010 exhibition brings together photographers Roe Ethridge, Elad Lassry, Alex Prager, and Amanda Ross-Ho, four artists whose work branches across art, fashion, photography and film. Dazed spoke to curator Roxana Marcoci about this year's selection.
